Back in 2018, when Katrina Kaif shot for filmmaker Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’ alongside Varun Dhawan, the actor had mentioned that she’d look good with Vicky Kaushal on screen.
Vicky Kaushal appeared on the same talk show a few episodes later and when Karan told him about Katrina’s statement, the ‘Uri’ actor seemed flattered and pretended to faint upon hearing it. We can almost say Karan played cupid between the duo.
Vicky and Katrina got to know each other a little better when they appeared in Film Companion's sixth episode of TapeCast Season 2. Here, they exchanged thoughts on their film career, fears, and fame.
Later in 2019, Vicky, while hosting an awards show, jokingly proposed to Katrina and she had said: “Himmat nahin hai (I don’t have the courage)”. This is when they sparked rumours about something brewing.
Rumour turned into a fact and fans rejoiced when Sonam Kapoor’s brother and actor Harshvardhan Kapoor confirmed the news of Vicky-Katrina dating during an interview around June 2021.
“Vicky and Katrina are together, that’s true,” he revealed on Zoom’s By Invite Only, and continued, “Am I going to get in trouble for saying this? I don’t know. I think they’re quite open about it.”
