Sridevi, the iconic actress who has appeared in over 250 films over 45 years, has undoubtedly left an enduring fashion legacy during her time in the spotlight. From her perfectly-draped chiffon sarees in Mr India and extravagant gown in the song ‘Hawa Hawai’ to her simple look in English Vinglish—Sridevi's impeccable sartorial choices were as iconic as her acting skills.

1. Mr. India
Sridevi captured hearts as the eccentric reporter Seema in 1987's Mr. India. She also ignited the screen in an astonishing appearance that hasn't been forgotten to this day. In the song Kaate Nahin Kat Te, she donned a blue chiffon saree with a matching bindi and red lip, showcasing her dance talents. This film cemented her status as a fashion icon, with devotees recreating Sridevi’s saree look till date.
Hawa Hawai is amongst the iconic actress’ most legendary songs and her look from the sequence is still fondly remembered. The ludicrous headgear, as well as the gleaming gold robes and ruffle gowns, were stunning and just as amazing as her character!
2. Chandni
When it comes to sarees, Sridevi not only stole the spotlight but also donned the nine yards of gorgeousness and made it the new sensation. Her yellow lace saree from the movie Chandni is another remarkable trendsetter. The actress played an Ichadhari Naagin (shape-shifting serpent) in the 1986 film Nagina, which had a fresh take on costumes. While Lamhe saw Sridevi in a variety of stunning outfits, we're particularly fond of this blue and yellow Rajasthani lehenga with a quarter-sleeved blouse and jhumkas, which she wore in her iconic song Morni Baga Mein Naache. Sridevi wore a collection of elegant cotton sarees in her comeback film English Vinglish, as she marched right into our hearts. In her stills from New York, Sridevi's floral saree delivered some iconic fashion statements, especially when paired with minimalist jewellery and solid trench coats. Glowing makeup, a small bindi, and a subtle braid completed the look.
10. Khuda Gawah
Sridevi appeared in the film in a completely different avatar. Thanks to her heavy junk jewellery, beaded turbans, loose garments, and intense makeup featuring heavily-kohled eyes—the diva created a mystical warrior bohemian persona in the song. This larger-than-life film, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, has a cult following.
